These are sent home with students after the fourth week of each trimester of the school year. During the third trimester progress reports are sent home only to those students who are failing or are in danger of failing a subject. Progress will be reported as follows:
Parents are encouraged to schedule a conference with the teacher if they have concerns about the progress report sent home. All conferences must be scheduled through the office.
We believe that children learn skills and concepts at various rates. In addition, that students are learning on a continuum and our report cards reflect this. The school year is divided into 3 trimesters which segments the year into three grading periods of 11 -12 weeks. Written reports are sent home at the end of each trimester.
Grades 1 to 5
Grades in all subject areas are reported to parents and students at the end of each trimester.
Grades for the subject areas of Language Arts (Reading – Language – Writing – Speaking and Listening) and Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arabic, French shall be reported as numerical averages according to the grading system.
Academic Student Report Card (Grades 1-5)
Grades in other subject areas (Physical Education, Art, and Music) shall be reported with an effort grade using:
Effort, Student Attitude, and Behavior marks for grades 1-5
Use the following grading system:
A student’s Final Grade at the end of the year in core subjects is based upon the following weight distribution:
